Once again, video technology might have been just the thing needed to save an innocent man from having his life destroyed by a false rape claim. Perhaps the next line of defense of the sexual grievance industry is that "women don't lie about rape, except when a camera has recorded the incident." And once again the motivation for the rape lie mirrors the motivation Kanin's report found to be most prevalent among the false accusers he studied. But, we all know Kanin, a former feminist icon who for most of his career could do no wrong in feminists' eyes -- became a nitwit incapable of doing fair and objective research when he tackled false rape claims.
Valpo woman sentenced after pleading guilty to false rape report
A Valparaiso woman who the Porter County Sheriff’s Police said falsely accused a man of raping her has been sentenced to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to a charge of false reporting.
Erica Donohue, 20, of 1209 1/2 Chicago St., was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with all but 20 days in jail and 10 days of community service suspended, police said.
According to police, on July 15 Donohue reported being raped by an acquaintance of hers in rural Porter County.
Det. Gene Hopkins of the PCSP subsequently undertook an “extensive investigation,” on the basis of which the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a warrant not for the man’s arrest but Donohue’s,” police said.
Donohue was arrested on Sept. 29. “During the following interview, Donohue admitted to not being raped and fabricated the rape accusation to conceal her whereabouts from an individual with whom Donohue was having a relationship,” police said. “A consensual video of the incident had been discovered during the investigation.”

Another innocent man saved from a rape lie by video technology; and, Kanin was right, again

False rape is real. Heterosexual sex is 'gray consent'. Consent today is like the fine print, it is "subject to change."
A prudent man will take all the necessary precautions prior to being alone with a woman.
I should probably explain something about Fingers and The Whine Guide. His style of humor is like Don Rickles. He insults everyone. It's a gag. What he said about me and my blogroll was his typical style. I know it seems odd, but you have to read awhile to get the feel for it. People actually get insulted when they leave him comments and DON'T get an insult in response. It's just the way his blog works. It's a gag.
20 days in jail, and 10 days community...
THAT'll teach her....

Thankfully, on the heels of the previous instance of a DA engaging in misconduct, here we have an instance of a prosecutor doing the right thing - issuing a warrant for the false accuser Erica Donohue's arrest (and getting HER name out).
Another in a string of hiding the infidelity with a false rape allegation.
I'm starting to think that if a woman has no other reason than covering up her infidelity for her putting a man (or, as is often the case, men) a grave risk, then that ought to be taken into consideration as a sentencing enhancement.
Clearly, women who do so are not "deeply troubled" and in need of counseling; they are cold and calculating, and thinking only of themselves.
If the law enforcement community is so "perverted"..that it no longer offers men/boys equal protection under the law...we may have to do it ourselves with cameras.
Hey i thought women/girls never, ever, ever, ever lie about rape.??
This just makes me more outraged. Awesome that in the end the correct people were sentenced and jailed.
I wanna go protest this some where. Maybe i'll write a letter to my DA or whomever.

slwerner,
Lets start with just sentencing some of these women a bit more harshly. I can't think of a single case of a false accusation we have on here that wasn't some form of covering up for their own bad decisions. Maybe we should just start charing false accusers with:
1. Kidnapping when an arrest is made (a rapist usually has this charge leveled).
2. Making a false statement (which should be on the same level as the charge, i.e. rape is a felony, so the false rape accusation should be as well).
3. Fraud
4. Extortion/blackmail (based on what the falsely accused are forced to spend to defend themselves).
Start piling on the charges, as it seems prosecutors are prone to do, it the hopes that something will stick.

That's right. And former N.Y. City board of directors of N.O.W., Warren Farrell, became a incompetent non-entity who got dumped by Donahue and avoided by the N.Y. Times.
You know, if N.O.W. really believes what they say about these guys who formerly worked for them, they must be admitting that either they don't screen people well enough or that the organization is incompetent in general.
The Archivist
I totally agree with you!
Look at O.J. Simpson
He was put in prison on kidnapping charges for saying something like "nobody leave this room".
Now if he goes to prison on kidnapping charges for not letting some guys leave a room for 10 minutes then for SURE a false arrest should carry kidnapping charges.
False accusations that result in someone being arrested should be a felony....it just shows how messed up that our country is that they are not a felony.
It takes time to make a false accusation it's not like it's a mistake.
I would like to see ALL false accusers charged with felonies put on sex offender registries for life and serve serious time in prison. In cases like the Duke case both the prosecutor and the false accuser should get life sentences.
Only then will this stuff die down and make life an even playing field for males.
Exactly! O.J. held some crooks who had robbed him for ten minutes and gets what amounts to life in prison, whereas false rape accusers put men in prison for months or even years and get nothing. The reason? Because O.J. Simpson has a penis and Crystal Mangum doesn't.
