Ladies only can park Heer

Published Date: 18 September 2009

A MAJOR employer is to examine its entire parking facilities after a row erupted over spaces.
Bosses at Heerema Hartlepool have cited reasons such as needing to find more spaces because of its growing workforce and trying to bring an end to an ongoing row which alleges that bays had been set up specifically for women.

Company officials spoke to the Mail after an irate worker at the site in Greenland Road sent a photograph to the Mail which had been posted in one of the parking areas and which claimed it was a women's only parking area.

The worker, who did not wish to be named, said it was gender discrimination and added: "The battle over women's parking has been an ongoing thing for over a year when Heerema put up signs stating that a certain area of the car park was reserved.

"It was never formally written that this was for ladies, but was always referred to as the ladies reserved area and often male members were told to move their cars."

The worker said he had been told that the reason for the move was "safety."

He added: "This week, as there are now more people in need of a parking space, some of the women were unable to park in the reserved area and had to park in an adjacent car parking area."

This sparked off the whole situation again, and on Tuesday this week signs were put up stating "Ladies Reserved Area."

A spokesman for Heerema Hartlepool said the Ladies Only sign had now been taken down.

"Someone had asked for the signs to be put up for ladies parking only which caused a problem and it was seen as discrimination against men," he added.

"The signs were taken down and the whole car park situation is being looked at because of the numbers of people on it."

He said the issue of parking for females was originally questioned "a few years ago" and arose over safety fears for women going home late at night.

One of the solutions was likely to be an increased number of parking spaces which could be on the way soon, he said.

The three items AfOR lists are all relatively short, so I’m going to go ahead and insert the full text of each:
Girl held over gang rape claim:
A teenage girl who claimed she was gang raped has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
The 16-year-old claimed she was sexually assaulted by six youths at a party on June 28.
The accused, aged 17 and 18, are believed to be former pupils at Swavesey Village College near Cambridge, where the girl had finished her GCSEs.
They were arrested but the case was dropped. Police said the girl had been bailed to appear on November 10.
Police caution after false rape allegation:
Monday, 5.15pm - A WOMAN was arrested on Saturday night (Oct 3) after a false rape allegation was made.
Police were called to Dysart Road at 10pm on Saturday following reports of a rape.

Enquiries were carried out and officers established the complaint had been false.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested and cautioned for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Valais woman arrested in Geneva for false gang-rape accusations:
Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - A 25-year-old Valais woman has been taken to prison, accused of defamation against six people, after telling police in March 2009 that she had been gang-raped by her former boyfriend and five other men in a garage in Carouge. She described in graphic detail the sexual relations that took place, in August 2008, but police became suspicious when she remained vague about the identity of the former boyfriend, whom she clearly knew well.
A lengthy interrogation finally resulted in the men being identified. The woman was called back in by police 2 October and initially insisted on the details of the story, but she withdrew her complaint when police confronted her with the truth.
She then admitted to police that she had consented to relations with at least some of the men. She made up the story to hide her infidelity from her current boyfriend, saying that he is very jealous, after he discovered her phone calls to her former companion.

=================================

The first is, yet again, apparently a story about a girl having consensual sex with multiple partners at a party (seems to be quite a bit of that feminist Raunch Culture stuff showing up of late); then, afterwards, wishing that she had not – and trying to lay a rape charge so as to exempt herself from her culpability.

In the second item, even less is known of the details of the case. Yet, the most telling information of all is that the woman has been “cautioned” for making a false rape report. That’s right, cautioned.

Then, in the third, yet another case of multi-partner infidelity (a lot of that feminist Raunch Culture infidelity going around too, it seems); complete with false rape charges to try to hide the woman’s cheating.

So, what inferences can we draw from three recent random? First, we are once again reminded that it is not at all atypical for women to have multiple sex partners. Second, not surprisingly, we find, yet again, that women will readily toss out false claims of having been raped when they fear that the consequences of THEIR raunchy sexual behaviors are going to have consequences for them.

And, of course, we are once again shown just how little the penalties are for women when they do toss out a false rape charge. Hardly any wonder at all that they do so with such regularity given that they face virtually no consequence in most instances.

Susannah Faithfull has been haunted by her mother’s image for all of her adult life. She sees her every time she looks in the mirror, for she has inherited her mother’s startling blue eyes. But every time Susannah is reminded of her mother, she is reminded of a childhood full of trauma. She was systematically sexually abused by her mother; repeatedly hurt by the woman she looked to first for her security, care and support...........

I'm sorry, but these continued references to "feminist raunch culture" are completely asinine. This has nothing to do with "feminist raunch culture."

Back to the TOPIC -- this is a perfect example of anti-male discrimination and double standards. We don't have white-only drinking fountains any more and we shouldn't have ladies only parking. How would they like it if the parking was men's only?

Anonymous - "I'm sorry, but these continued references to "feminist raunch culture" are completely asinine."

They are solely for the "benefit" of a certain troll who repeatedly asserts that bad sexual behaviors are demonstrative of a patriarchal "rape culture".

I posit my remarks as a none-too-subtle challenge to that troll that instance of woman behaving (sexually) badly are, rather, a symptom of what is known as "raunch culture", which is what has grow out of the feminist-inspired sex-culture (not "rape culture" as some feminists would prefer to label it).

Women choosing to embrace their sexual liberation, but then coming to regret their choices - and subsequently choosing to try to utilize the power of the state through false rape charges to clear themselves of any culpability (at the great expense of men's lives; figuratively, and even literally), is simply NOT, as blogger Amanda Hess suggests, a necessary evil borne out of this imagine rape culture, but rather an unnecessary evil borne out of women's desire to avoid the consequence of their choices to engage in the free-wheeling sexuality of (what I WILL continue to call) the raunch culture. It may well have escaped your notice that a significant number of false rape allegations arise out of such circumstances.

You may, of course, either chose to ignore what I post, or you may take up your complaint with the hosts of this site. I fully intend to apply the nomenclature to every instance I see fit, and to continue to challenge the troll wrt the claim of that non-existent "rape culture".

[if the troll drops it's reference to rape culture, I'd certainly consider dropping my references to the the raunch culture]

Raunch culture is just a not-so-nice word for what a lot of feminists insist is their right to do what they think the boys have always done. Even though they don't enjoy it as much as the boys; even though they regret it more than the boys; and even though boys can't get pregnant but they can. Real smart women, these feminists. That'll show the boys!

Says who?

even though they regret it more than the boys

So what if some have regrets. Every woman's different. Some enjoy it, some don't. What's your point?

even though boys can't get pregnant but they can

But boys can get girls pregnant. Your point?

It isn't about showing the boys anything.

Norm said...

Ever heard of streetlights? Or perhaps they could splurge and get a security guard.

Norm said...

"boys can get girls pregnant"

No.

When a girl gets pregnant, she must have made a choice to have sex, knowing she might get pregant. Pregnancy is not something boys 'do to' girls. In fact it usually ends up being the other way around.

"Even though they don't enjoy it as much as the boys

Says the psychiatrists who are giving women anti-depressants by the truckload these days.

"So what if some have regrets. Every woman's different. Some enjoy it, some don't. What's your point? "

The point is, men don't have sex with 6 women, wake up in the morning feeling "cheap", and then hop on a bus to the police station to ruin 6 people's lives for engaging in consensual sex.

"But boys can get girls pregnant."

Pregnancy is 100% a woman's fault,100% of the time.

With the vast range of contraception available to women today, if a woman gets pregnant, it's because she wanted to.

Renee said...

Anon,

Says the psychiatrists who are giving women anti-depressants by the truckload these days.

And you yourself know that all of the issues are about sex. Riiiight....

And if this is true, what about statistics that say that men are more depressed than women?

The point is, men don't have sex with 6 women, wake up in the morning feeling "cheap", and then hop on a bus to the police station to ruin 6 people's lives for engaging in consensual sex.

And those women who do that shouldn't represent ALL women, especially those who do enjoy group sex.

Pregnancy is 100% a woman's fault,100% of the time.

With the vast range of contraception available to women today, if a woman gets pregnant, it's because she wanted to.

LMAO (laughing-my-a**-off if you don't what that means)!!!! It takes TWO people to make a baby. A guy can wear condoms and a girl can go on birth control or hormones if they don't want to get pregnant.

-----------

Norm,

When a girl gets pregnant, she must have made a choice to have sex, knowing she might get pregant. Pregnancy is not something boys 'do to' girls. In fact it usually ends up being the other way around.

But it takes two people to make a baby. I never said that it's something boys 'do to' girls. When a girl gets pregnant, BOTH parties "must have made a choice to have sex, knowing she might get pregnant". Don't alleviate the guys from responsibility. BOTH are responsible.

Seriously, I didn't think there were STILL guys who thought this way. Maybe that's one of the reasons why scientists have been dragging their feet in creating other contraceptives for males.

------------

Back to the topic:

I agree with Norm (who would've thought lol) about having security guards and parking-lights instead of a separate area for women.

Anonymous said...

And if this is true, what about statistics that say that men are more depressed than women?

What statistics? I thought that women were far more likely to suffer depression than men. And who can blame them, considering that they're brainwashed into feeling sorry for themselves?

No.

Any woman who didn't want to have a baby could walk into any drugstore in the country and purchase the morning after pill for the price of a loaf of bread. If she does not do this, then she wanted to have a baby, therefore the pregnancy is completely her fault.

"My body,my choice". You have total control over the reproductive process, which means you also have 100% responsibility for any pregnancy going to term.

Don't like it? Too fucking bad.
You are the only ones with reproductive rights, therefore you also have 100% of the reproductive responsibilities.

And what, any guy who wants to have a baby doesn't wear a condom? Until a day comes when a woman can reproduce ON HER OWN, then both the guy and girl are at fault. And anyway, for some women, hormones based contraceptives, like birth control, makes them sick...so what then? Of course, a guy should buy a condom if he doesn't want to get her pregnant.

Don't let your bitterness with the fact that women are the main ones with reproductive rights (ex. abortion) get in the way of common sense. I have my own opinions of abortion and reproductive rights but this isn't the forum to discuss that.

What statistics? I thought that women were far more likely to suffer depression than men. And who can blame them, considering that they're brainwashed into feeling sorry for themselves?

If I'm correct, guys here (and in other places) have mentioned those statistics. Yeah, I thought the same thing, that women were more likely to suffer depression.

Anyway......

ONLY ones with reproductive rights, dear. ONLY ones. And I'm not "bitter", I just think that's seriously fucked up. How would you like having absolutely no rights to your own genetic material?

That's the point you keep missing. Since the impregnated woman is the ONLY person who can decide whether or not she has the baby, she is entirely responsible for carrying the baby to term. Thus, the pregnancy is 100% HER fault,100% of the time.

You can try to argue that any way you want to,but it still adds up to the same thing, any way you try to stack it. "My body,my choice" carries with it an equal responsibility,"My pregnancy,my fault".

And the point that you keep missing is that she didn't get pregnant by herself. The fact that she's responsible for carrying the baby to term or that she is the only one who can decided whether or not she has a baby period (and yes I think that men should have a say) has nothing to do with conception. This doesn't negate the fact that males share part of the responsibility if a female gets pregnant. And I'm not saying that females should be alleviated of any either. It's 50/50.

Of course there are instances in which a person "tricks" a significant other. In those situations I can kind of see what you mean, but in the end when two people have sex, they do so knowing the risks.

That's all I'm going to say about this topic. If you don't agree, too bad.
