We frequently note that false rape claims often have terrible consequences for the falsely accused. They often have terrible consenquences for the loved ones of the falsely accused, too. And, yes, sometimes they have terrible consequences for false accusers.
Some false accusers are arrested and jailed, and a small percentage are convicted and sent away for a sufficiently lengthy period that they won't forget the ordeal. This, of course, is not to suggest that false accusers in general are charged, convicted, or sentenced properly for their crimes. Not by a long stretch, and that is probably the most important change that needs to be brought about in the false rape milieu.
A more common way of punishing false accusers is the trend of news outlets to report their names, which we, of course, applaud. Again, this is not to suggest that false accusers are identified by news outlets with sufficient frequency. Not by a long stretch. Too many refuse to identify false accusers; some, inexplicably, insist on calling them "victims."
There is another type of harm to false accusers that is very, very rare, but it happens. Some false accusers are beaten and even murdered by the men they tried to destroy. While I am certain some of our readers will experience the momentary, unconscious inclination to applaud such acts of violence, we must reign in our passions lest we lower ourselves to the level of those man-hating monstrosities who applaud the imprisonment of males on the basis of rape accuasations without caring if the rape actually occurred.
While we must never, ever advocate violence against anyone for telling a rape lie, still, we must raise the question that is surely at the forefront of every reader's mind: what did society expect would happen?
When our justice system abandons an entire class of victim so that often the only "justice" or "mercy" they can hope for is their victimizers' recantations, is it at all surprising that a small percentage of victims would want to lash out at their victimizers? When the state refuses to do justice for a group of citizens and insists on treating them as collateral damage in the "more important" war on rape, when the state decides that the victimization of one class of citizens is more worthy of protection than another, is it at all surprising that a few of these forgotten, abandoned, ignored victims will take the law into their own hands to mete out the justice that the system refuses to provide?
Which got me to thinking about a strange case from last year. Mohammed Ali lost his self-control and launched into a frenzied stabbing attack, leaving Yasmina Larbi-Cherif, 22, and her sister Sabrina, 19, dead. He was charged and convicted of murder and was sentenced to prison for life.
But here is Ali's side of the story: Ali had been in an on-off sexual relationship with Yasmina since 2006 and impregnated her twice, but she terminated both pregnancies against his wishes. In February 2008, Ali was arrested after Yasmina made an allegation of rape against him. Ali claimed it was a false accusation. He then spent five months in custody before the case was dropped against him (she didn't want to pursue it).
If, indeed, it was a false claim, for reasons known only to Ali, he resumed his relationship with her. Then one night, Ali claimed he and Yasmina started talking about her pregnancy terminations -- and about the time he spent in prison. According to Ali, Yasmina started laughing. “The more I talked about it she just laughed. I did not know what to do. I just snapped,” he said. According to the news account: "Ali said he then picked up a knife from a sink and stabbed Yasmina in the back. She fell to the floor. He then heard [her sister] Sabrina come into the flat and felt a blow to his head. He then hit Sabrina in the face with his elbow before stabbing her. He said he then dragged both the women’s bodies into the bedroom, stripped them and put them on to the bed."
The judge rejected Ali's story and sentenced him to life in prison.
The thought crosses my mind that Ali's version of the facts might have been just too disturbing, too subversive, for the judge to believe. Regular readers of this blog will understand the rage Ali must have felt if his version of the facts were true.
But I can't help but read this as a cautionary tale. We do not condone violence or vigilante justice for false rape claims. But when women strip men of their liberty, their good names, their finances, and their dignity by falsely accusing them of rape, what more do those men have to live for? Is it a stretch to imagine that some of those men are going to snap and exact a justice that our legal system refuses to provide them?
What is astounding is that there aren't a lot more news stories where this sort of thing happens. The way to prevent it from happening is to start treating the falsely accused with the same respect, the same dignity, that we show to rape victims.

Rape is a crime of violence, not a sex crime.
If you make a serious false accusation (or even a genuine one) against a man of violence, well, you'd better have a good medical plan, or already written your will.
The fact that violent retribution is so rare as to be almost unknown against FRAs, merely underline the point that they were never violent men in the first place.
"I'm a lover, not a fighter" as they say
(OT, why can it not think that phrase without thinking of it being said in a whiney high pitched michael jackson voice?)
QED
I'm a victim of a false rape accusation, and my anger is not so much on the girl that made the false accusation, but on the perversion of our legal system that did not act in a fashion that would protect the innocent.
When the law enforcement no longer protect the innocent..that is when the law enforcement turns into a perversion.
In my husband's case, he would never hurt a woman in the first place. If he would ever run into her, he would walk, no run, away.
I want to see her suffer greatly. I am not violent either but I pray that she will suffer for the rest of her life. I pray she suffers as much as we have for what she has done. I pray she ends up graveling for his forgiveness as they haul her off to prison for the rest of her life. I pray she gets into a situation where she gets into so much trouble no amount of corruption in government can save her.
Bitter? Me? You betcha!!!!
I hope she rots in hell!!!

Exactly. It also quite possible that many false rape accusers choose their victims.

"Exactly. It also quite possible that many false rape accusers choose their victims."
I'd say it was an ABSOLUTE certainty, at least at the sub-conscious level.
In cases like mine, for my FRA it was clearly a case of "familiarity breeding contempt"
They will learn, non violent does not equate to carpet, revenge is a dis best served cold, and of course, legal.
So the best defense against false rape accusations is being violent towards women.
Well, since you ask, if you were a damnell or a crystal, would you accuse al capone of rape?
One of his enforcers perhaps?
mebbe the unabomber? or carlos?
"So the best defense against false rape accusations is being violent towards women."
That seems to be what women's behaviour indicates, yes.
Let's not forget WHO makes the false accusations, and WHO chooses the victim.
Another double standard is if this were a woman who killed a guy and claimed domestic violence she would walk without one day in jail.
I'm shocked that more people are not killed over FRA.
Some of the people I grew up with would beat the crap out of you for taking their parking space.
It's amazing that ANY of these false accusers and guys like nifong can even stay in this country.
I remember seeing an episode of "snapped" where a lady drove something like 100 miles with a loaded gun and shot a guy 6 times Then reloaded and shot him again 6 times.... because he ALLEGEDLY molested her daughter.
Pretty clear cut first degree murder.
Well she got off as you might have guessed.
So if you get acquitted for murder for an alleged sex assault why don't you get off with nothing for killing someone for a FRA??
Don't get me wrong it's not right in either instance to kill someone but why is one perfectly ok and the other not?
After all they are both allegations.
I wonder how many spousal murders are a consequence of men being painted into a corner by false allegations and a system/community that defaults to believing the woman.
Start of the seventies the rates of suicide and spousal murder were about equal by gender. After several decades of one sided advocacy and politics men now commit both significantly more than women. Perfect example of where one should be careful what one wishes for.
I agree with the posters, not many women have the courage to falsely finger a gang banger because they know him and his posse will be coming after her. The type that they go after are ones that they feel are "safe" and won't be coming after them even after spending 20 years in jail.
I also think that you don't here about these cases too often because the media doesn't want to publicize this kind of behavior as it might discourage women from reporting a rape. Kind of like the media not reporting on all the black on white crime, it might result in whites striking back and result in a race war.
My question is how many times have there been "preemptive strikes" where some guy falsely accused takes out the "victim" figuring that he could plead out to manslaughter and get the same sentence that he would have gotten for the "rape" (~20 yrs) but at least when he gets out he's not a registered sex offender, his time in jail is better as a murderer than a rapist and he has gotten revenge. If your in a lose lose situation it seems that the calculations for this could push it over to one side or the other.
I believe I wrote something a while back to the effect that I was surprised that not more men took vengeance upon the female who had made false allegations against them and ruined their lives. A lot of people were offended by that but obviously these falsely accused men are of the non violent non agressive type. Perhaps these are the men who invite these false allegations because the female knows they're not the type who would beat or kill them. I've never heard of any false rape allegations being made against the mafia or other thug types. And it would be interesting to know how many real Alpha men with the means to utterly destroy the female have had any false allegations made against them, Yes, I know there have been some where the female may shake the guy down for money but these are usually men in the public eye and there's a lot of publicity around the case so it's hard to deal with the female without it being subjected to a lot of police and press scrutiny.
False rape accusers are usually profoundly dysfunctional people, and as such can easily create almost as much trouble for themselves as they do for their victims. Crystal Mangum, for instance.
But it's very rare for the victim of a false accusation to resort to violence; far more often, I think, women who have murdered their husbands or intimate partners use false accusations to get off. Many in the legal system are all too willing to accept a sob story from a woman, no matter how non-credible.
Needless to say, we must condemn violence, even against false rape accusers. Expressions of anger are fully justifiable but there is never an excuse for degrading our sacred cause by sinking to the level of the liars.
Anon @1.55-Liquidation of false accusers is perfectly justified. Females who engage in these false accusations and ruin lives with impunity and many times for no reason at all are mutant females who are of no use to men or society. The value of a female is based on her use to a man and these false accusers are nothing but financial drains and troublemakers.
"Perhaps these are the men who invite these false allegations because the female knows they're not the type who would beat or kill them."
I would hardly call that an invitation.
"The value of a female is based on her use to a man"
Sorry, but that's just retarded.
"I wonder how many spousal murders are a consequence of men being painted into a corner by false allegations and a system/community that defaults to believing the woman."
Studies have shown that the VAWA has lead to an increase in intimate partner homicides.
http://www.aavreform.org/
Gender feminist inspired changes to law enforcement protocol have created perversions of the law that enable violent women, and persecute innocent men/boys.
To the female posting crap at Anon 9.01 and 9.05:
Unless a female is of some use to a man, she is useless. Why would a man keep any female around who only drains assets if she served no purpose?
And yes, females do know who the weak men are and use them as scapegoats.
The fact that false rape accusers are not killed proves this.
"To the female posting crap at Anon 9.01 and 9.05"
Fail.
"Unless a female is of some use to a man, she is useless."
So single women never do anything of value?
"So single women never do anything of value?"
I'm trying to think of one thing that single women do that I would consider valuable, and I'm sorry, but I'm drawing a blank.
What value do they add, to anything? Really - nothing is coming to mind.
"I'm trying to think of one thing that single women do that I would consider valuable, and I'm sorry, but I'm drawing a blank."
They're the same things that men and married women do. There are single women who are parents, teachers, doctors, nurses, paramedics, police, etc. There are single women who work as volunteers or raise money for charity.
