A Fort Myers woman is accused of filing a false rape report against her lover at the request of her husband.
Jody Mary Ryan, 18, was arrested by Fort Myers police Saturday at her home. She is facing charges of making a false report.
Officers say Ryan and her husband, Mahmoud Koush, 27, filed the report on Saturday.
Koush told officers he received a call from his wife saying a friend of his had touched her inappropriately, according to an arrest report.
Later that day officers responded to the couple’s home to assist EMS. Ryan was taken to Gulf Coast Hospital where reports said she told officers the friend raped her at a motel on Cleveland Avenue, but she was afraid to tell the whole story earlier because she did not want her husband to find out.
Officers spoke with the hotel clerk who told them Ryan did not seem to be in distress when she rented the room.
Hospital employees said Ryan made no statements about being raped. She was only concerned about being pregnant, reports said.
Officers then spoke with the man Ryan accused of rape. According to reports, he and Ryan had been having a consensual affair for about two weeks and he had given her a ring. After going to the hotel, Ryan came to his work and threw the ring at him because Koush found out about the affair, reports said.
Detectives viewed video footage which showed Ryan throwing the ring.
Ryan eventually confessed that her husband found out about the affair and told her to lie about being raped so he could get back at his friend.

It would be interesting to read the husband's version on this one to see if he admits or denies telling his wife to lie about being raped as she claimed or if he claims it was she who described the ordeal as a rape to him. It will be surprising if the wife and husband do not get divorced.

This situation is pregnant with possiblities. One is that the husband had nothing to do with false rape charges, which the wife concocted originally in the vain hope her husband would think the tryst was not voluntary on the wife's part. Another is the husband did indeed suggest to the wife to file rape charges to get back at the friend who disrespected him by sleeping with his wife. A third possiblity that has tantalizing considerations is that the husband encouraged his wife to make the false charge, planning to expose it and subject his unfaithful wife to both public humiliation and criminal liablity for making a false charge, and at the same time dump on the "buddy" who screwed his wife behind his back. While I don't think false rape charges are a good idea, in the circumstances of this case if it was the third possiblity - Karma's a bitch, ain't it?

Except that, the now (certainly) ex-friend remains unnamed (as is wholly appropriate in any he said/she said rape allegation), and only the wife and cuckold husband are named, exposing him to public ridicule for having been thusly cuckolded by his wife (who feared that she was pregnant by her lover). That’s a fairly deep shame for an Islamic man (honor killings are the norm for much less), so I doubt he’d wish to endure it.
More likely is that he was seeking to punish the other guy, knowing how men accused of rape tend to suffer by it, and had it back-fire on him when witnesses made it quite clear that any rape claims were surely false.
It seems the husband learned about the on-going affair well before any allegations were made to police. It’s unlikely that the wife was just trying to “sell” an FRA-for-alibi to her husband (ala Danmell Ndonye, and countless others) by involving police when the husband already called her on her infidelity even before she went to her lovers work-place to tell him that her husband/his supposed friend knew of their affair.
This woman filed a false rape accusation to cover up a love affair. This woman would be perfectly able, to excuse her false rape accusation, to falsely accuse the husband of having incited her to lodge a false rape accusation.
