A 30-year-old woman has been sent to prison in Guernsey after falsely claiming she was raped.
Joanna Gallienne admitted perverting the course of justice and was been given a 13 week sentence.
She was in a civil partnership with another woman when the incident happened in May.
Police investigated the matter although they did not believe her. The man involved was never arrested.

"....was been given a 13 week sentence."
13 weeks is not enough for falsifying rape. False rape is a hate crime.
”Police investigated the matter although they did not believe her. The man involved was never arrested.”
This pretty much says it all. We are seeing a “turn” in the way law enforcement is dealing with rape allegations.
Just a few years back, we seldom, if ever, saw news articles which outright state that a woman’s allegation simply wasn’t believed. It used to be that if a man was named (as clearly happened in the story above), he would be brought in (typically arrested) for interrogation and the building of the case against him would commence immediately.
Now, they are taking a more rational and measured look at claims, including some tougher questions being asked of the woman making allegations.
They seem to be unraveling more FRA’s rather quickly, and with minimal harm done to men (targeted, or otherwise).
I, for one, cannot help but believe that the influence of The False Rape Society has been instrumental in furthering such changes. If not in single-handedly effecting a sea-change, at least in planting the seeds.
slwerner,
Thanks for the sentiment. It is greatly appreciated. We are also starting to see more custodial sentencing happening. I will be curious to see, down the road, if this affects reporting.
Charging false rape accusers, will deter false rape accusations.
I agree with Anonymous, false rape claims should be classified as hate crimes...there needs to be equal stigma given to women that falsify rape claims as men who commit rape...only then will we move away from our rape culture.
I like your blog a lot. I've just started my own recently with some my views of masculism. Check it out when you get the chance.
